However all is not as it seems. The play has been written by an acclaimed Estonian playwright Jaan Tatte, whose first play 'Highway Crossing' has been a critical success both in and outside Estonia, including the UK. In 2006, the critically acclaimed UK premier of 'Highway Crossing', directed by Liisa Smith, was listed as Critic's Choice in Timeout London, and sparked further interest in Tatte's work. Happy Everyday will be directed by Liisa Smith produced by Heleri Rande. The production is also supported by The Estonian Embassy. Co-founder of StageSpell Theatre Company, Liisa Smith's previous credits include 'Poor Beast in the Rain' by Billy Roche (Vanemuine Theatre in Estonia), 'The Bird Sanctuary' by Frank McGuiness (Time Out Critic's Choice), 'On Raftery's Hill', and 'Highway Crossing' also by Jaan Tatte (Time Out Critic's Choice). 25th May - 12th June Tue - Sat at 7.30pm Sunday Matinees at 3.30pm Extra Saturday Matinee on 12th June at 3.30pm Tickets £12/£10 http://www.offwestend.com/index.php/plays/view/4119 http://www.offwestend.com/index.php/plays/view/4119 Getting Away by Sarah Henley Directed by Gill Foley 27 April – 22 May Tuesday – Saturday 7.30pm Sunday Matinee - 3.30pm Tickets: £12/£10 Following the success of Sarah Henley’s first play, ‘Getting Out’, Giant Olive presents ‘Getting Away’. Keeping to form with more multi-role-playing and fast paced comedy, Henley’s ‘Getting Away’ is presented in the style of a graphic novel - artist and all. The six members of the most successful sales team in the country have won a mini-break to congratulate them for doing so well. The one hitch is that their partners are invited – Claire has to find one, Lisa’s is a neanderthal and Guy’s is a French super-hero who’s wings have been clipped. How these couples fare is all down to the sometimes malevolent artist who has his own agenda and can change their fate on a whim. With free scenes and even audience input, no two performances will be the same. http://www.offwestend.com/index.php/plays/view/4117 http://www.offwestend.com/index.php/plays/view/4117 Marvellous Dorians 'Bare Dollar' Monday 26th April at 8.30pm Monday 3rd May at 8.30pm Monday 10th May at 8.30pm Monday 17th May at 8.30pm After the huge homecoming show at The Macbeth, Eddie Award-winning comic duo The Marvellous Dorians are back and this time they’re in trouble. Peggy, the Nigerian prince, and Toby, the ex-public schoolboy, are skint and not because of something as passé as the credit crunch. Peggy never had any money in the first place and Toby is shit with all things fiscal. With the threat of eviction hanging over them, Peggy is forced into some good, old-fashioned skulduggery and starts up his own classic Nigerian 419 scam. Meanwhile, Toby gets lucky as a wealthy benefactor offers him a substantial amount of money in return for his bank details. Coincidence? Who knows? Can they pay the rent before their amorous landlord comes a-knocking? Come find out as The Marvellous Dorians struggle to get Bare Dollar. Support comes from underground mind-reading sensation Mystic Pete ("Phenon-mentally good" - Kerrang), who will hypnotize the audience into thinking they'll have a good night. http://www.offwestend.com/index.php/plays/view/4116 http://www.offwestend.com/index.php/plays/view/4116
