'I am delighted to have been asked to be a patron of I consider myself lucky to have had such a diverse and maverick career, choosing and being able to perform cutting edge new writing which would never have been put on in the commercial world.Working with directors such as Richard Jones at The Old Vic and Steven Berkoff in numerous Off West End venues and my own solo shows have been highlights for me. Sometimes these wonderfully creative productions have transferred to the mainstream West End but they would never have been seen in the first place without Off West End theatres. Please help us to continue to support them so that alive and vibrant theatre can flourish!'

Trained to be a ballerina. At 17 thought I wasn't good enough to continue as a career so decided to be an actress and studied at Central School of Speech and Drama. Worked in repertory companies, weekly and then 4 weekly. Did a lot of TV and Films, as diverse as Becket with Richard Burton and Peter O Toole to cult B Movies such as Big Zapper and Zapper's Blade of Vengeance. I went down big in the far east! My heart was always in physical theatre because of my love of dance, I suppose, and then I met Steven Berkoff ! I worked extensively with him for years. Formed an all female rock group with three other girls called The Sadista Sisters, made an album, played the Reading Festival in the 70s amongst heavy metal groups. Returned to Berkoff. Worked with the wonderful Richard Jones. Two years with the RSC, West End plays, Manchester Royal Exchange etc. My six Solo Shows I have toured all over the world and won The People's Choice/What's on Stage Best Solo Performer award in 2001. Currently still touring The World's Wife my solo show written by the wonderful poet Carol Ann Duffy. All my shows are very physical. I learned to be a trapeze artist for one of my shows and currently I am learning Flamenco just as a hobby. I have directed many plays in London in Off West End theatres and Strindburg and Arthur Miller plays at the Old Leicester Haymarket. I was very proud to receive the Manchester Evening News Award for Best Director of Martin Sherman's A Mad House in Goa at the Oldham Coliseum. I most recently directed the wonderful Rani Moorthy's two solo shows Curry Tales and Shades of Brown which she wrote and performed.

TV include:
The Green Man, mini series with Albert Finney, Lynda La Plante's She's Out, Silent Witness, Spooks, Jekyll and recently Foyles War and Midsomer Murders.

Films include:

Becket, Big Zapper films, Manifesto, Mr Love, The House of Mirth, Day of the Dead, and just finished filming Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

My latest theatrical adventure was to play a female Hamlet at the Edinburgh Festival with a renowned puppet company from Tbilisi,Georgia. The puppets played all the other characters. Now just taking a pause to start plotting my next project!
