About: Flowers of the Dead Red Sea

Run Amok
by Ed Thomas
directed by Izzy Rabey

Two butchers, Mock and Joe, embark on a darkly hilarious and absurdist journey through a deep sense of internal opposition to pervasive cultural and masculine identity. Razor sharp and fast-paced, this is a deeply entertaining and energising evening of Welsh writing at its most compelling.

Run Amok, associate theatre company of Aberystwyth Arts Centre, is a young company just over a year old, we welcome them to Londonwith this fresh reactivation of a Welsh contemporary classic by Ed Thomas, writer and producer of S4C and BBC4s Y Gwyll/Hinterland.

The first two monologues have been specially written by the playwright for the tour of Flowers of the Dead Red Sea. Both speeches are part of an online promotional scheme devised by the company and filmed by Welsh company Culture Colony on the sites of local Ceredigion businesses. – Mock's monologue – Joe's monologue filmed by Peter Telfer

Not suitable for anyone under 14.
