Nick Brice, Artistic Director of White Room Theatre said:

“I wanted us to offer something creative and fun, that businesspeople can enjoy on their lunch break. Our lunchtime fourplay programme means that people can take a break from their desk, home or day in town, and relax for 40 minutes of engaging theatre. They can enjoy their lunch and our delicious plays at the same time.’
People can network with likeminded people for both business and social purposes in a stimulating arts’ environment, and be refreshed and motivated for the afternoon.”

Audience feedback from our last show:

‘I was invigorated to leave the office and managed to get back to work in time with out my boss even noticing.’

Lunchtime FourPlay really is the epitome of high variety entertainment. The experience is low cost and low carbon, as well as highly charged.

'The St James Theatre in Victoria revive lunchtime theatregoing, and it seems to be a hit.'

Lyn Gardner (The Guardian)

'I still can’t decide whether staging four short plays at lunchtime is actually a good idea, but it was certainly well executed. The hour was split up into four plays, or ‘courses’: starter, main, dessert and coffee, and it was a BYOP affair (that’s Bring Your Own Picnic).'

'If you have the luxury of an hour to spare in the middle of the day this week, I would recommend you spend it watching Lunchtime Fourplay – bring along some sandwiches, and a healthy theatrical appetite.'

Everything Theatre

'If you’re on the search for a more adventurous lunch break, then The St James Theatre may have just the programme for you with their lunchtime plays. All made to sit comfortably within an hour, so you can fly from office to audience and back again and your boss won’t even notice you’ve left. This week Bitesize's Lunchtime Fourplay took to the stage, and it was a great breather in the middle of my day.'

'I’d highly recommend seeing this, it’s fun, fast paced and a bit like stepping in to the Edinburgh Fringe on your lunch break; an exciting novelty delivered with pace, punch and much hilarity.'
