Tabard Theatre
by by Gareth Cadwallader

Tickets: £15 - £17

Paris, 1867. Manet: the greatest artist of his time, charming, irresistible to women and protector of a shameful secret at the heart of his family. Berthe Morisot, a beautiful young woman with bewitching eyes and more than enough artistic talent to outshine him. Will he worship her, devour her, undermine her or paint her again and again until he’s used her up?

A play that reveals the true story of a little known love story at the heart of the Impressionist movement and an explanation for some of Manet’s greatest paintings. Gareth Cadwallader’s debut play was presented at The King’s Head and Hope Theatre’s last year.

Madame Manet will be presented over three weeks; the weeks in between performances are used to further develop the work, learning from the rehearsals, audience engagement and peer feedback. Come along and take a chance to see how a play is developed and to have your say about how it will turn out!

Directed by Mary Franklin
Produced by Olivia Amory
