About: The Canterbury Tales
Expect tales of love, lust, murder and mayhem as Impulse Collective bring their mischievous storytelling style to The Canterbury Tales.
A contemporary take on a 14th century classic, join the five performers on a journey from Southwalk to Canterbury as they deliver their own anarchic twist on stories such as The Miller’s Tale, The Knight’s Tale, The Wife of Bath and many more.
Using a fast paced mix of physical theatre, live music and verbatim, The Canterbury Tales switches seamlessly between moments of laugh-out-loud silliness and serious questions about the extent to which society has really moved on since the time of Chaucer’s writing. Impulse Collective have adapted the text to suit a modern audience, but fans of Chaucer’s writing will find much to love in a whistle-stop tour through the stories.
