As You Like It by William Shakespeare
a comedy about love
‘men have died from time to time and worms have eaten them, but not for love’
Rosalind sees Orlando fight a wrestling match and it’s love at first sight. But before they can arrange to see each other again, they are forced to run for their lives. For her safety, Rosalind disguises herself as a man. But when she escapes to the forest, and finds Orlando there too, she faces a dilemma:
‘Alas the day, what shall I do with my doublet and hose?’
…sometimes it is only in disguise that you discover the truth about love.
‘Come woo me, woo me: for now I am in a holiday humour….’
Rosalind is one of Shakespeare’s best-loved characters, in this, one of his most popular plays. This is our first Palace production of a Shakespeare since 1976. Don’t miss it!
