AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE
On from 01 Apr 2008 till 26 Apr 2008
Arcola Theatre
by By Henrik Ibsen, Adapted by Rebecca Lenkiewicz
Genre(s): Drama

About: AN ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE

Greg Hicks stars in a devastatingly relevant drama about the true price of honesty.

'In times of deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act.'
George Orwell

There are those who think money is worth more than human life. Dr Thomas Stockman isn’t one of them. What is it going to cost himto tell the truth?

In an age of ruthless consumerism and big business we present a stunning new version of Ibsen’s never-more-relevant morality tale that asks: is it possible to be an honest man, in a town built on lies?

Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s first play, Soho – A Tale of Table Dancers won a Fringe First in Edinburgh (2000) and was the opening play at Arcola in 2001 before touring Israel. She has since written The Night Season (National Theatre), Shoreditch Madonna (Soho), and adapted The Soldier’s Tale (Old Vic). Rebecca’s next play will be at the National Theatre later in the year.
