About: Theatre Festival Pending: A Festival of Work by Emerging Artists

The Mercy Seat:(7pm, Wednesday April 17th & Friday April 19th)The world has changed overnight. On September 12, 2001, Ben Harcourt finds himself in the New York downtown apartment of his lover and boss, Abby Prescott. His endlessly ringing mobile phone haunts their conversation as Ben and Abby explore the choices now available to them in an existence different from the one they knew just the day before. Will Ben let his family know hes alive, or will he and Abby take this chance to create a new life for themselves?

High School English: (7pm, Thursday April 18th & 3pm, Saturday, April 20th)Is education failing our children? In a last attempt to get her Higher English class to pass their exam, Miss Adams allows her class to fabricate modern elements into classic stories. We all remember the bit of Jungle Book where Mowgli gets an iPad, right? The new comedy raises the questions in a world of labels are we educating our children in the right way?

The Things That Were There: (7pm, Tuesday April 16th & Saturday April 20th) A new play by award winning playwright, David Greenspan. A memory play and a meditation on loss dramatises the events and relationships of a family over many years. Past incidents are recalled, and at times relived. Certain scenes begin again with slight or significant variation as a means of investigating family relationships through a continually shifting lens, exploring the tragic and comic potential of events and interactions.
