About: Comedy & Curry

COMEDY & CURRY Sunday nights in March!
Sun 15 March @ 7.45pm
Scott Capurro Goes Deeper

Writer and comedian, Scott Capurro came to Watermans last summer on the way to Edinburgh and liked it so much that he’s come back with his whole Edinburgh show. Camp and outrageous, provocative and controversial, catty and hysterical, Capurro is a breadth of fresh air!

Brought up in California, Capurro has been performing regularly in the UK for over fifteen years. In 1994, his solo debut show garnered him the Perrier Award for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the Edinburgh Festival. His comedy covers subject matters from politics, race, gay life and popular culture. When he’s not performing comedy, Capurro makes guest appearances in films (Mrs.Doubtfire as ‘Aunt’ Jack Hilliard) presents the odd documentary on television, and also appears in plays.

Capurro is a challenging comedian whose humour operates on the boundaries of good taste – Yet despite this approach or because of it – he has established himself as one of the most popular faces on the UK comedy circuit.

Sun 29 March @ 7.45pm
Nick Wilty and Dougie Dunlop

Wilty is an accomplished comic with a warm street wise manner, known as the ‘Globetrotting Comedian’. That’s because he has performed in every country except the Antarctica! He has won many awards including the Polo Mint Comedy Award voted by fellow comedians and club owners in England, and the ‘Best International Act’ in San Francisco.

Dougie Dunlop

Dunlop is a highly talented observational comic, who effortlessly gets audiences laughing and sharing his unique take on life. His precision humour is delivered with great warmth and he is popular with his fellow comics, as well as audiences.

He began his career at ‘The Stand’ in his hometown Edinburgh and made his fringe debut as part of ‘The Midnight Show’ in the Gilded Balloon. Now based in London, his relaxed approach makes him popular as a wedding and corporate entertainer. Apart from Stand up, Dunlop has also appeared on television (Live Floor Show, BBC Scotland).

MC: Dave Thompson, actor, writer and comedian.

Along with great comedy, audiences can enjoy a superb Curry for just a fiver with the Guru Tandoori’s Curry deal. You can eat before the show, at the interval or afterwards and pick from a selection of dishes. For reservations call 020 8232 1011.
