About: Faultlines

Oblique House present the world premiere of

Steph, a 14 year old girl, goes missing.

Her mum is flying off on a sun-kissed holiday with her latest boyfriend and her dad keeps meaning to call.
As questions are asked and information drips through we piece together who was involved and what has happened to her.

Relationships are re-assessed and responsibility hangs over everyone's head.

Faultlines is set in a small Northern community unsettled by change. Manual work is drying up, identities are lost and families aren't what they used to be. Word spreads quickly and fingers are pointed. Simple answers are sought and acted on as people try to distance themselves from the event.

In an atmosphere of blame, guilt and denial Steph's haunting absence strips the community of their veneers and proffers a second chance.

James Pearson is a young new playwright. He was winner of the Westminster Prize 2005 and is a member of Soho Theatre’s Core Writers Group. Faultlines is his debut full-length play.

The cast includes Lisa Devlin, Steven, Farah, Abigail Hood, Rebecca McQuillan, Ben Nesham, Sarah Ogley, Benjamin Stanley, Shaun Stone, Suzanne Tooney.
