About: Food Court with The Necks

Part concert, part theatre show, Food Court is an unpredictable roller coaster of images, sound and emotion which tells us of one woman's humiliation in a suburban wonderland, with a live soundscape by Sydney cult jazz trio, The Necks.

Back to Back Theatre is an Australian theatre company with a distinctive artistic voice and a devising process that works with its ensemble of disabled actors as its creative core.

They return to the UK after the success of their site-specific show small metal objects at Stratford station in 2007.

‘Geelong’s Back to Back Theatre, an ensemble of performers with disabilities, extrapolates a nightmarish scenario and an astonishing work of art from a snippet of conversation overheard in a shopping centre.’
Sydney Morning Herald

‘Food Court is a triumph…a work of devastating honesty and, ultimately, extraordinary
beauty that confirms Back to Back as a key player in contemporary theatre.’
The Australian
