About: Honeypot

Susanne is a 35 year old beautiful Swedish woman. When her father dies suddenly, she discovers that he was a hidden Jew.

This revelation galvanises her to leave her husband and make a wild journey of self-discovery. In an attempt to get closer to her father’s past, she goes to Israel where she volunteers to be a Mossad agent. Her job is to seduce the PLO mastermind who organised the murder of eleven Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics.

Susanne believes she has the courage to commit a vengeance killing. But will she be able to push away a man who has fallen in love with her in order to revenge the dead?

Written by Julia Pascal. Directed by Orly Rabinyan.

After the success of her first play on Israel, Crossing Jerusalem, (Tricycle Theatre) Pascal explores the cycle of Middle Eastern violence that spilled all over Europe.

“Exceptional…remarkable…harrowing” New York Times (The Dybbuk)

“Brave, intelligent and desperately moving. Pascal’s play puts a human face on the misery of history. She also does it in such a way that it is never sentimental but possesses a Brechtian austerity. The faceless become individuals here. This is a dense, enlightening evening that packs a real punch” The Guardian (The Woman In The Moon)

“A tense and stirring piece of theatre” The Times (Theresa)
