About: Under a Foreign Sky

Theatre Centre presents, UNDER A FOREIGN SKY a new play about three young Kosovan Serb migrants who arrive in Britain and want to make a new start in their young lives.

Although these young people may be considered refugees their reasons for being in Britain are purely economic. Bojan, nineteen, keen to be the next big chef, is ready to make a mark in his new world. Drina fourteen, struggles in a new land, a video camera connecting her to a place she once called home. Twelve-year old Ibi arrives and, swallowed up by the city, simply disappears into an underground world...!

These young people are bound by a journey and a shadow that looms above. Inspired by the global economic crisis and its mediatized portrayal, this play asks what happens to young migrants when they look to start again Under a Foreign Sky.

UNDER A FOREIGN SKY is directed by Natalie Wilson, artistic director of Theatre Centre, an organisation pioneering the development of theatre for young people since 1953. Its
productions are a creative springboard for teachers and young people, supporting their skills and knowledge in and out of the classroom.
TC develops writers and artists working for and with young people, investing in new ideas and collaborations to create theatre which is pioneering, truthful and diverse.
