Forest Fringe is an award-winning community of Artists creating dazzlingly unusual work at the Edinburgh Festival and beyond. For the first time they are coming to London for a full two week residency at the Gate. You’ll have a chance to experience some of the creative, collaborative sprit that has made there regular stay in Edinburgh such a hit with artists and audiences alike. Each night will be a miniature festival in itself, featuring a headline act alongside an array of talks, films, music and work-in-progress performances curated by the headline artist.

Chris Thorpe (9 – 14 April)
In the first week Chris will be presenting a different story each night from those he has performed at Forest Fringe and elsewhere over the last four years. Those who will be joining Chris include two artists he is presently collaborating with on other acclaimed projects; the poet Hannah Jane Walker, co-creator of the award-winning The Oh Fuck Moment, and Third Angel artistic director Alex Kelly, with whom Chris is an associate artist and regular collaborator. In addition to this there will be a chance to see the brilliant Chris Goode performing is own work and exciting projects from Tom Penn, Lucy Ellinson and Ira Brand of Tinned Fingers.

Dan Canham (16 – 21 April)
The second week will see Dan Canham performing his elegiac dance theatre piece 30 Cecil Street, a huge hit in Edinburgh this year and now on a national tour. Those Dan will be joined by include the incredible Bristol-based companies Search Party and Sleepdogs, presenting works-in-progress of their latest pieces. In additional to this there will be solo-work from two brilliant and unique artists; Tassos Stevens and Augusto Corrieri. There will also be an exciting new project by the agency of adventures Coney and music from Sam Halmarack and Little Bulb Theatre.
