Ďa boisterous show full of laughter and funí OneStopArts

From the producers of last yearís critically acclaimed and extended run of Ruddigore, comes the most popularly celebrated of all the Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, The Pirates of Penzance.

Orphaned pirates, flat-footed policemen, a bevy of blushing maidens and the pretty daughter of Major General Stanley Ė all the ingredients for a fabulous recipe of G & S at their very best. Sullivanís ever popular and memorable score contains some of his most beautiful writing as Gilbert, in his most topsy turvy of all plots, leads us through the swashbuckling world of young Frederic, the Pirate apprentice, who was born on February 29th in a leap year and therefore wonít be 21 and come of age until he is 84!

The Pirates of Penzance is produced in-house at the Tabard Theatre whose previous musical credits in addition to Ruddigore include Rodgers & Hammersteinís Cinderella, Youíre a Good Man Charlie Brown, and Just So. Last yearís Ruddigore was a critical and box office smash, named Time Out Critics Choice and one their Top Five Shows of the Week. It was subsequently extended due to popular demand.

With some of Gilbert and Sullivanís best tunes such as Poor Wandering One, A Policemanís Iot, and I Am The Very Model of a Modern Major General, the Tabard Theatreís production of The Pirates of Penzance imaginatively combines the wit and charm of the original with a contemporary vigour that will delight both G & S fans and new audiences alike.
