1. The Show. Fashion designer Flora Mezaros, a member of an artists co-operative is struggling to find work during the Great Depression. She is hired by a large department store at which time she falls in love with Harry, a struggling designer, who attempts to convert Flora to his Communist ideals. Even though it compromises her job in an organization which does not recognize the new unions she seeks to hold down both job and relationship.

2. Kander and Ebb. The song writing team of John Kander and Fred Ebb is one of the most successful pairings in modern musical theatre. In 1962 when they wrote Golden Gate, a musical that was never produced. However, the quality of the score convinced producer Harold Prince to hire them for their first professional production Flora the Red Menace. Next was Caberet which ran for nearly three years. Their next few works were less successful The Happy Time, and Zorba, which both ran less than a year, and 70, Girls, 70 which closed after just 35 performances. In 1975, the team wrote Chicago which when it resurfaced in 1996 transferred to Broadway and is still running after more than 6,000 performances. They worked on the score for the film New York, New York. They then composed the score for The Act a musical starring Liza Minnelli about a fictional nightclub act. The team then wrote Woman of the Year, which starred Lauren Bacall. The Rink (1984) was their next collaboration followed by The Kiss of the Spiderwoman which opened in 1993. Steel Pier original work to reach Broadway during Ebb's life opened in 1997.

3. All Star Productions. Founded by Musician Aaron Clingham, is Walthamstow’s only full time professional theatre company specializing in Musical Theatre revivals. Our 2011 season included Godspell which gained 6 nominations in the Off West End Awards, Girlfriends, the first London revival of The Musical Of Musicals The Musical!, Piaf and in 2012 Love & War The Songs of Howard Goodall.

4. The Landor Theatre. Located on the first floor of The Landor Pub in Clapham, South London and seats an audience of up to 60 people comfortably, who will all enjoy an intimate and friendly experience – within 3 rows of the performance.

Katy Baker Nominated Best Female for the Off West End Theatre Awards

Katy Baker brings a punchy, feisty vitality to the title role of Flora. The Stage

All Star Productions, gives this surprise gift of a musical the high quality platform it deserves. UKTheatreNetwork

It’s perfectly suited to a young company, being an engaging story with a delightful score. A Younger Theatre

Flora the Red Menace bristles and bubbles with such energy that one feels helplessly swept up on a wave almost paralleling that of the communist fervour within the production. Whatsonstage.com

Katy Baker (Flora) displays a remarkable comic ease which is married with a voice that should be heard in a West End auditorium. She manages to make a role played by Minnelli, into her own. Remote Goat

Katy Baker’s Flora is a dynamo of energy and she belts out her songs convincingly. What's On The Fringe
