About: These Trees Are Made Of Blood: Scratch

1978. With the world watching, Argentina has just won the World Cup and the streets of Buenos Aires are buzzing with patriotism. The clubs are open all hours, drinks are cheap and the music is hot. Step inside for an evening of celebratory cabaret and live music. But how long can the façade be kept up?

“Matias says they bundled Ana into a Ford Falcon. They put electrodes on your tongue and peel the skin off the bottom of your feet... but surely not with the World Cup here...?”

Following on from her scratch week in February, director Amy draper continues to explore the story of one mother’s search for her son, one of Argentina’s Disappeared. This time with cabaret artists and musicians.

Scratch allows artists to test ideas and get audience feedback. Come explore and be the first to discover the future of theatre.
