About: Butterflies Don't Do Maths

Following a number of successful performances including the National Theatre Timisoara, Romania, and the Quarterhouse here in England, now GREEN13 Collective brings its electrifying drama to Shoreditch.

BUTTERFLIES DON'T DO MATHS explores the influence of other people's actions over individual life choices. The show follows Andie, a strong woman who has overcome the obstacles and challenges encountered in four different stages of her life. She symbolically associates these with the metamorphosis of a butterfly. During the course of her journey, she will discover that love, in its various forms, has always been the impulse driving her forward.

This original piece of drama incorporates an intriguing set design with video projections and thrilling contemporary choreography.

‘Alexandra Roshu offers an intriguing and engaging performance, her debut directorial outing’ – Andy Hurst

‘A powerful and thought-provoking piece of contemporary theatre’ – Ethan Lewis Maltby (
