Bull's Head History

The Bull's Head was established in 1684 as a hostelry and became a jazz venue in 1959 committed to presenting some of the world's greatest Vocalists and Modern, Mainstream, and Traditional Jazz, Blues and Funk artists. 'The Bull' has showcased and helped launch the careers of many young bands and musicians including Guy Barker, Gerard Presencer and Jamie Cullum.

Golden Theatre was formed in 2008 and introduced theatre to The Bull's Head with their first production 'Dick Whittington'. They then produced the several 'Antidote' concerts (musical theatre standards, classic comedy and vintage variety, 2009/10), 'Mother Goose' (2009), 'Paul Knight and Friends' (2010) and 'The Other Day and other New Works' (a new play and excerpts of new writing, 2010) all at The Bulls Head. Also the World Premiere of 'Heroine the Musical' at Theatro Technis/The Courtyard Theatre (2009) and a workshop of 'Billy Budd' by Paul Knight and Clive Hayward in Walkers Court Gallery, Soho.

Golden Theatre's Pocket Pantos are written and directed by Paul Knight whose many theatrical ventures include having written The Oxford Playhouse's highly acclaimed Panto for thirteen Christmas seasons.
