In the late seventies a volatile fifteen year old finds herself shunted into her final foster home. As youth plays cat and mouse with age, two parallel sets of revelations collide with devastating consequences.

Weaving film and powerful underscore, jumping in time between the 1970s and the 2nd WW, ‘Transports’, by turns funny and moving, is a journey not quickly forgotten. It was inspired by the experiences of designer Alan Munden’s mother, a Kindertransport refugee.

Split Bill: Alice & Lisa

Pleasance Theatre
by Alice & Lisa

Two ladies going it alone. But together. Alice & Lisa have just graduated from Jacques Lecoq and are none the wiser as to what they should be doing now. Making 30 minutes of solo material each seemed like a good idea as it gives them a combined hour in the spotlight. Alice is seriously questioning her extra-curricular choices whilst talking into a microphone. Lisa just wants to escape loneliness for a bit (please stay for the second half.) Both shows are probably too honest (to the point of oversharing), both shows are attempting to be funny, and both shows are not even shows yet. Two odds make an even. Steven?

"I stick my tongue out a tiny bit. Just a tiny bit; to see what the soil, the ground, the earth tastes like"

At 8.10am, Monday to Friday, Lucy catches the train to London Bridge. At 9am, her day begins. At Insignia Asset Management Lucy is in charge of the photocopier, printer, scanner, shredder and binder. She's starting to wonder how this fits into The Grand Scheme Of Things. Not one of her colleagues seem to have the answer she's looking for.

One Wednesday afternoon, her world alters when she notices the abused office pot pant. On the 6.15pm train to New Cross Gate, Lucy takes the plant home to start a new life.

In her flat, 24 stories above the ground, the pot plant finds a place to spread its roots, as Lucy begins to plant, cultivate and nurture her own personal wilderness.

Digs

Pleasance Theatre
by Pleasance Theatre

This explosive devised piece by Theatre with Legs asks the question: what is home? DIGS explores the nature of shared living, posing provocations on the housing crisis, love and loneliness.

It observes the rituals, the patterns and the codes of behaviour that we adopt when sharing living space. Playfully combining verbatim text, dynamic movement and a live music score, this piece takes the audience on a darkly comic and poetic journey. With personal stories at the helm, from the bizarre to the profound, DIGS looks at how human behaviour plays out in both public and private space.

Development supported by ETCH.

'Every hour should be this much fun' ***** (ThreeWeeks).

'A formidable comic powerhouse' **** (Chortle.co.uk).

'The next Joyce Grenfell' (Spectator).

'One of the UK's best' ***** (New Current).
