MICHAEL CHEKHOV IN THE 21ST CENTURY

"The inner life of the [imagination], and not the personal and tiny experiential resources of the actor, should be elaborated on the stage and shown to the audience. This life is rich and revealing for the audience as well as for the actor himself." – Michael Chekhov

During the last ten years Chekhov’s life and work has been undergoing something of a renaissance, and his reputation as a master actor trainer is steadily growing.

This workshop aims to show through practice how Chekhov’s psychophysical exercises can deepen an actor’s understanding of their craft and gain a greater insight into the creative potential of body and imagination.

Joseph Dunne is an experienced drama practitioner, and an expert in this method of actor training, he holds a Masters Degree from the University of Exeter.
