Promote your show via our new trailer compilation videos!

WHAT IS IT?

To support & promote live and online independent, alternative & fringe theatre to attract audiences, OffWestEnd is launching a regular series of TRAIL videos which will comprise trailers from current or forthcoming shows.

Who doesn’t enjoy the chance to get a preview of forthcoming theatre or film by checking out the latest trailers?  TRAIL is a chance for prospective audiences to enjoy a collection of preview clips for current or forthcoming theatre shows.  If you haven’t got a trailer, and depending on the available space, we may be able to include a poster or image for your forthcoming show.

HOW MANY PREVIEW CLIPS / POSTERS WILL THERE BE IN EACH TRAIL VIDEO?

Each TRAIL video will comprise around 6 preview clips (each around 45 seconds) and will include introductory and linking slides, and a final slide with a summary of “where to book” links.

Your preview clip could be a full trailer (45 secs) or it could be some other audiovisual preview of your show – e.g. interviews with those involved, pics from rehearsals, images of set or costume designs, excerpts from previous shows, etc.

WHERE WILL BE THE TRAIL VIDEO BE AVAILABLE?

Each TRAIL video will be hosted on our new “TheatresOff” YouTube channel (where all “where to book” links will also be incuded).  In addition, your preview clip can also be separately included on our new “TheatresOff” YouTube channel at no extra cost.

HOW WILL EACH NEW TRAIL VIDEO BE PROMOTED?

When each new TRAIL video is added to the “TheatresOff” YouTube channel, an eshot about the video, listing all shows with trailers or posters and their booking links, will be sent our subscriber list (8K+ subscribers) and the new TRAIL video will also be promoted via social media, especially via twitter (currently around 20K followers).

HOW FREQUENTLY WLL THERE BE A NEW TRAIL VIDEO?

There will be at least one TRAIL video per month, and additional TRAIL videos may be sent depending on demand.

WILL EACH TRAIL VIDEO HAVE A PARTICULAR FOCUS?

The main focus of each TRAIL video will be on live theatre, though it is possible to also include trailers for online shows.

If there was sufficient interest, there might be particular videos that focus on a genre (e.g. plays, musicals, IDEA shows) or a theme or even a location (especially if there is interest from theatres outside London).

HOW LONG WILL EACH TRAIL VIDEO (OR MY SEPARATE CLIP) REMAIN ONLINE?

TRAIL videos will remain online until all shows on that video have ended or are no longer available (individual end dates for clips on the video will be included in the note about that video).  Individual preview clips will also remain online until the show has ended or is no longer available.

WILL MY CLIP / POSTER BE IN THE NEXT TRAIL VIDEO OR CAN I BOOK A FUTURE DATE?

When booking, you can choose for your preview clip or poster to be included in the next TRAIL video to go out, or you can make a request for a date in the future, and we will do our best to send a TRAIL video on a date as close as possible to your request.

WHAT IS THE COST?

PLEASE NOTE: To the end of 2021, it is FREE to have your trailer included in a TRAIL – so please ignore the following instructions for the time being.  Just send an email to info@offwestend.com to make a booking.

There is a sliding scale of fees depending on the position of your preview clip in the TRAIL video, and a reduced price for posters – see “Making a Booking” below. Positions will be allocated on a first come first served basis – if we have several bookings for a particular position in the next TRAIL video, we will contact you to discuss the options – if we cannot fulfil your position request, a refund for the difference will be made immediately.  As outlined above, though, you can request a future date when you want your clip to go out, which may give you a better chance of getting the position you want.

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO BOOK AND TO SEND MY PREVIEW CLIP?

When you make a booking you will be asked to submit all the relevant details.  For clips, you need to send your 45 second preview clip to info@offwestend.com – as an attachment or via a transfer service such as WeTransfer.  If you wish to have your full trailer included on our YouTube channel, please send this as well.  If you are submitting a poster or image, you will be asked to upload this when making a booking.

Please note that we must receive your preview clip(s) at least 5 working days in advance of the date when the TRAIL video will be made available online (and the eshot sent and twitter announcement made).  Posters / images need to be received at least 3 working days in advance.

WHAT ARE THE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CLIP / POSTER I SUBMIT?

Preview clips or posters / images should be landscape and in 16:9 or “widescreen” format.  Clips should be a minimum of 1080p and 25fps (Frames Per Second) is recommended.  When booking, you will be asked to supply relevant information about the show / producer / dates / etc – if your preview clip is not a full trailer (where this info is included), we will include all this relevant information as pre & post title cards in a standard format.  Finally, if there desired or required subtitles, please submit these as a Word (or equivalent) document and they will be added in by our team in a standard format.
